CHAMBER GREEN TEAM “TIP OF MONTH” ON RECYCLING
“Biodegradable,” “compostable” , or “polylactic acid (PLA)” labeled containers mean they are made of bioplastics and are found usually as food packaging. They should NOT be recycled with conventional petroleum based plastics. These new types of containers cause expensive problems when they enter conventional plastics and yard debris processors. Instead, dispose of them in your garbage.
