Don't forget the 4th of July this Saturday with the only fireworks display at 10pm in Western Wash. County.  Right here in Banks!!   There will be racing in the evening and a Family Fun Festival from 2pm to 10pm - Old fashion BBQ, pork or beef and Strawberry Shortcake.  Music entertainment throughout the afternoon.  A big time happening here in Banks, Oregon.

Greg Biffle, NSCAR driver from Vancouver, Wash. will be visiting the Sunset Speedway on July 18th.  He will be available at certain times to sign autographs and will drive the two seater Late Model race car.  You have an opportunity to win a ride with Greg Biffle in the Late Model race car. It is sure a pleasure to be put on the map with a great NACAR Sprint Cup driver.

Sunset Speedway Park is making an offer to give Banks Residences a discount to attend the races this year.  By showing your valid drivers license, you get a $3.00 discount or $11.00 - Reg. ticket is $14.00.  Senior Citizens is $7.00. Weather permitting, there will be racing at Sunset Speedway Park every Saturday afternoon until middle of June, starting at 2pm, then racing will go to a start time of 6pm - evening racing to September  (blog 5/7/09)

 Maddie Kay's Cafe has changed hours to being open 7 days a week from 6am to 2pm. Stop by to view history pictures and other  memorabilia artifacts while enjoying breakfast or lunch.  For now the open hours is 6am to 1pm during the week.  Cafe is WiFi friendly - ask management to allow you access while enjoying coffee, etc. (Blog 6/12/09)

The Banks Trail Cafe is WiFi friendly.  You can enjoy breakfast, lunch or just coffee while surfing the web, etc. the same time.  Open @ 7am M-Sat. and closed on Sundays. In addition, on Friday and Sat. evenings there is open Mic and music. The above map of West Banks development is the 174 acrea of the Vanderzanden Estate. It is located West of Main Street of Banks and between Cedar Canyon Road and Highway 6.  The above suggested development was presented to the Banks Planning Commission on March 28th. (blog 4/6/08)

LIBRARY CULTURAL PASS CHECK OUT  This is a cooperative effort of the Washington County Libraries.  Chamber members partnership with this program by sponsoring the following Cultural Passes.  To take advantage of this program, anybody in the community with a Library Card can check out the passes at our Public Library.  These passes provide free admission to any of the listed points of interest in the Portland and Washington County area.
