REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE
The Banks Chamber of Commerce has created a “Business Green Team" to determine which local businesses are making an effort to reduce, reuse and recycle. Businesses who successfully meet the criteria are awarded the "Green Business" plaque. This makes Banks environmentally sensitive in a challenging economy. "Think globally, act locally” is alive and well in the Banks Community.

Chamber Green Team Tip of the Month on Recycling
“Biodegradable,” “compostable”'" or “polylactic acid (PLA)” labeled containers mean they are made of bioplastics and are found usually as food packaging. They should NOT be recycled with conventional petroleum based plastics. These new types of containers cause expensive problems when they enter conventional plastics and yard debris processors. Instead, dispose of them in your garbage.
